MY BACKGROUND

My name is Veronica Angiuli - and I am a future Instructional Designer. I strive to discover the different angles that this field approaches diverse learning. As an engineering high school teacher, I am constantly thinking of new ways to incorporate instructional design strategies into the classroom.

Creating courses and finding any resource I can is my goal - and this blog will help to identify the different trends that exist in our society for shaping the future of online learning. Follow along in my journey!

Introducing Media Literacy

IN THE MODERN TIMES

New media and information literacy is the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, and create media in various different forms. In today's digital age, information is always abundant and coming from diverse sources. This is essential for individuals to develop growing critical thinking skills to have awareness to the content they absorb and encounter daily. Media literacy also provides a feeling to empowerment, where is will help people understand how the media impacts our lives daily, how to recognize bias through media, as well as making informed decision which will strengthen these skills as a consumer. By practicing these skills, individuals can create effective media to engage with, as well as contributing to society in a progressive way.

This graph shows which media news outlets and websites hold dias, and where they hold their bias. This is a beneficial tool when deciphering which media outlets are trusted to look at (Rosdeitcher & Munley, 2020).
